How does counselling in Burnaby with Nita work?
Let me give you a head’s up..
I’m not the typical talk therapist who is reserved and composed.
I’m not someone who will assess what’s wrong with you and come up with a diagnosis and formula to fix you.
I show up as another fellow human being who is trained to listen to you differently from your friends and family would do.
When you meet with me for the first time, I will ask you questions from a stance of curiosity and want to get to know you as you.
I am not a short-term therapist per se, though I noticed clients started experiencing shifts in their life within the first 6 sessions.
These small shifts often become a catalyst for something bigger, so some of the people I journeyed with stick around for the long haul.
And why me?
I’m not just your regular counsellor. I believe that to give you the best experience, I need to be present and focused.
This means that unlike the industry standard, I schedule a max of three appointments per day and no back to back. This allows me to keep my whole focus on you.
As an empathetic and sensitive person, I believe that being the best version of yourself means working within my personal capacity. Overextending myself does not allow me to be my best. So I choose to lead by example.
Counselling is about YOU
That’s why I offer both in-person counselling in Burnaby or online counselling.
For in-person counselling in Burnaby, my office is easily accessible on Hastings Street just steps away from Boundary Road.
And in the spring and summer months, I offer walk-and-talks at the scenic Confederation Park in Burnaby Heights.
For online sessions, we meet via secured video chat.
Therapy with Nita typically involves:
~ Meeting bi-weekly for 50-minute sessions so we build a good connection and build off a momentum
~ For those who feel that they have a lot to process, Nita also offers 75- and 90-minute sessions
~ Making small shifts and lasting changes to how you see yourself and the world around you
~ Growing your confidence one day at a time
By the end of therapy you will:
- Find your authentic self and become more confident showing up as who you are
- Feel more secure and grounded as you have more clarity on who you are, who you want to be, and how to present yourself to the world
- Accept yourself and feel more grounded in claiming your voice and taking space
- Shine brightly living life in your own terms, and do that in the most unapologetic way possible!
