Queer counselling for youth and young adults all accross Canada

Life is not a straight line. The ups and downs can often leave you feeling confused and overwhelmed, especially when you’re trying to find where you fit in this world. That’s where I come into the picture…

Hello and welcome into the space…

My name is Nita Agustin, and I go by (she/they) pronoun

Like many of you, I’ve been there and done that in life.

That’s why I’m here to guide you on your journey of self discovery.
I want to support you in finding your voice and becoming the best, most confident version of yourself.

Growing up can be tough and navigating your personal identity, gender identity, and sexual orientation can add to the challenge.
As someone who was born and raised in a fairly conservative culture, I am acutely aware of how our culture, religious, and social context can impact the way we show up in the world.

My personal discovery and healing journey taught me the importance of being seen and affirmed in my personhood.

And that is what lights up the fire in me to offer queer counselling to queer and questioning youths and young adults in Burnaby and all accross Canada, a safe space to be themselves while exploring their curiosities, untangling their confusions, and learning to embrace who they are meant to be…

When you feel like you have nowhere to go, come find me.
When you don’t feel at home in your own skin, come find me.
When you wonder “is something wrong with me?”, come find me.

Like you, I spent years trying to understand who I was and why I couldn’t just “be like everybody else”.

I felt alone, misunderstood, guilty, and confused.

The truth is, I’m not everyone else. And neither are you.
That’s why I’ve created a safe space to help young people navigate the challenging moments in their lives.

I want you to know that you are not alone. I can relate and I’m here to listen.

Queer counselling will help you work through your questions, explore different views, and uncover the confidence and uniqueness of your authentic self

Let me share how the spunky counsellor process works…

Finding a counsellor is like finding the right puzzle piece. The pieces might look similar, but only one fits.
A counsellor is no different.

So before you make any decisions, let me tell you what working with me looks like.

Yes, I’m a therapist, but, like you, I'm also human. My process is not clinical.  When you trust me with your queer counselling journey, you can expect someone who wants to get to know you. Someone who will listen differently than your friends and family because I’m trained to.

But also someone looking to build a trusting relationship that allows us to talk openly through your challenges and help you look at things from a different perspective

Queer counselling is a process. It’s about making incremental changes that pave the way for transformation. It's about working through the layers and exploring the many facets of your identity so you can actually enjoy the person you are.

And in all of this, I feel very fortunate to be a part of your process!! :)
